JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work environment under general supervision.
- Demonstrate ability to log on to main computer systems, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.
- Works under minimum supervision and guidance performing part inspection.
- Understanding how to interpret drawings, specifications and inspection requirements (GD&T).
- Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings/Specifications/Standards and approach/apply/explain knowledge clearly, concisely and logically.
- Review and verify inspection and testing of products to ensure products meet drawing and specification requirements.
- Ability to locate a reference point on part and measure dimensions such as angle, arc, and radii, using combinations of aids, such as surface plate parallel bars, angle plates, gauge blocks, V blocks, and precision measuring instrument.
- Maintains, perform and document established calibration intervals on all Inspection, Measurement, and Test Equipment.
- Performs first article, in-process and final inspections.
- Generate appropriate and detailed documentation, record-keeping, and reports of results and performance.
- Review and verify inspection and testing of parts for compliance and ensures that only acceptable product moves to the next operation.
- Review and verify inspection and testing of products for compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Capable of maintaining communication between Quality and Manufacturing departments.
- Provides input on technical matters pertaining to inspection methodology and responsibility.
- Completed non-conformance reports in writing for defected parts and initiate corrective action as needed.
- Assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from standards.
- Reports to Quality Manager to work with appropriate functional areas to resolve discrepancies.
Safety
- Adheres to plant and department safety rules. Identifies and reports safety problems.
- Safely operates all equipment and tools.
Additional Accountabilities
- Trains less skilled personnel as assigned.
- Performs all work necessary to achieve Morris Machine"s goals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a US Citizen
- High School Diploma
- Experience with PC-DMIS (common program used in measurement software to coordinate measuring machines like CMM.)
- At least 3 years of experience of actual CMM experience
- Minimum 3 years experience of quality inspection
- Experience and/or training are included in considerations.
- Ability to use complex numerical controlled equipment.
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions.
- Understanding of Microsoft office suite
- Practical knowledge of measures and dimensions, such as length, height, and distance, between reference points, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, and snap gauge, to ensure the product meets specifications.
- Must be people-oriented and dependable
- Detail Oriented
- GD&T 5 years experience is preferred
