Job Summary Work Shift 1 - First Shift Are you the type of person who enjoys managing people, improving processes, and performing high quality customer service? This role will manage a team that performs the day-to-day outbound domestic freight activities. You will providing oversight and direct support for the building, booking, and processing of all domestic outbound whole goods freight. You will have the opportunity to network across the business by coordinating with the parts distribution center, production control, sales teams, and our domestic dealers. We are looking for a strong leader with process management and improvement skills who is excited to tackle a fast-paced and complex department. What You'll Do 1. Supervise team members to ensure that all freight related transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner. 2. Ensure that all freight is compliant with applicable laws and regulations. 3. Ensure that team members are cross trained proficiently in multiple roles within the team. 4. This role should be proficient to perform all functions within the team when necessary. 5. Produce and monitor reports related to critical department metrics. 6. Monitor and approve outbound freight invoices, maintaining accuracy and profitability. 7. Manage and correct exceptions to the outbound freight processes. 8. Positively and professionally collaborate with the parts distribution, order desk, production control, sales teams, domestic dealers, and other internal departments. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain or Logistics with a minimum of three years in Management and/or Logistics.
- Knowledge of shipping/logistics, data analytics, and inventory management.
- Ability to supervise staff in the performance of duties such that performance meets or exceeds expectations.
- Ability to develop personal, professional, and interpersonal relationships with co-workers, customers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ability to prepare thorough, accurate, professional, and error-free documents.
Travel - Occasional travel may be expected of this position.
Work Location ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
