Job Description

KeenLogic is seeking an experienced Graphic Design Production Assistant to join our Chief Administration Office team on Capitol Hill at the U.S. House of Representatives. Chief Administration Office is dedicated to providing seamless production support to meet the needs of House Leadership, Members, Committees, and administrative offices.

We are looking for a candidate with a background in graphic design and multimedia content creation to support communications, branding, outreach, and social media campaigns. A successful candidate will also have a proficient understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite. We welcome applicants who are recent graduates or early in their graphic design careers.

This is a hybrid position, with Mondays and Fridays primarily remote, though candidates must be willing to go on-site as needed. The work hours are 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. This is a full-time role offering Fortune 500-level health benefits, PTO, 401k, and a monthly travel reimbursement.

Candidate Specific Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a photo and print production environment, supporting graphic design, branding, and multimedia content creation for communications and outreach initiatives
  • Knowledge of optical and digital photographic imaging principles and procedures
  • Understanding of layout, document formatting, and setup for printing
  • Strong conceptual and creative thinking skills, as well as a solid knowledge of typography, color theory, design systems, and layout principles
  • Artistic ability to determine cropping, density, color, contrast, saturation, and formatting of digital photographic images
  • Proficiency in operating computer hardware and software to produce high-quality photographs and graphics for production
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat Pro DC, and InDesign; understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with elected officials, senior staff, IT professionals, and non-technical users
  • Ability to work additional hours as necessary
  • Must be able to secure and maintain a Federal Government security clearance as deemed appropriate by senior management
Job Duties:
  • Prioritize work assignments based on customer needs, workload, and production capabilities to ensure timely project completion
  • Collaborate with photography and design staff to understand client needs, provide sample images for approval, and recommend appropriate design solutions
  • Assist in the design, layout, and production of print and digital materials, ensuring consistency with branding and communication goals
  • Edit, retouch, and resize images for various media platforms, maintaining high visual standards and brand consistency
  • Ensure all print and digital assets meet technical specifications for production and publication, including resolution, color accuracy, and formatting
  • Manage and organize an asset library of design files, templates, and production materials for efficient workflow
  • Perform quality control checks on designs, print materials, and digital assets to ensure a polished final product
  • Support proofing, preflighting, and file preparation for print production and vendor submissions
  • Coordinate production timelines and workflow, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and meet expectations
  • Assist with daily production work, including receiving and reviewing project specifications, estimating costs, and tracking projects through completion
  • Provide recommendations on materials, printing processes, and color workflows to optimize the quality and efficiency of production
  • Participate in the development and distribution of program documents and materials, ensuring proper branding and design standards
  • Process customer requests and maintain billing records, ensuring accuracy in project tracking and order completion
