As an
Internal Auditor within the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities - Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas
- Acts as liaison for the Agency or Department by communicating effectively with assigned organizations or programs
- Review financial reports of the agency and subrecipients to evaluate reporting meets appropriate standards
- Examines financial and other documents for compliance with accepted accounting methods, policies, procedures, and laws
- Inspects account books and accounting or financial computer systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions
- May develop or maintain departmental audit policies or procedures, or review the work of outside auditors to ensure quality control
- May supervise lower level and/or support staff
- Prepares, analyzes, and verifies annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate monitoring planning and
- Research data, prepares/submits final monitoring reports, issues financial settlements, responds to and resolves related issues
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional job- related experience;
OR
Five (5) years of professional job-related experience;
OR
One (1) year of experience at the lower level Auditor/Examiner 2 (FIP031) or equivalent position.
