OVERVIEW
The Inventory Manager for Cannabis Retail is responsible for overseeing the accurate and efficient management of all cannabis products, supplies, and inventory within the store. The Inventory Manager will be responsible for a team of inventory associates. This role requires strict compliance with state and local laws, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage the movement of products from suppliers to store shelves. This includes routine physical audits of pre-packaged marijuana products and comparing these physical audits with METRC and the POS software inventory counts, receiving bulk incoming product for the store, following Quality Control procedures and maintaining organization of all products. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and experienced in managing inventory in a fast-paced retail environment.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
· At least 21 years of age
· At least two years of inventory management experience in the cannabis industry.
· Must pass a criminal background check as required by the CCC and with no felony convictions
· Excellent communication skills both orally and written
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Metrc, and Bio-Track programs.
· Ability to deal with problems and resolve in a professional manner
· Performs well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
· Flexible schedule to include weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays
· Ability to multi-task and places a high importance on organization and accuracy
· Ability to learn and use POS software in compliance with program regulations (CCC)

KEY JOB DUTIES
· Inventory Tracking and Management:
o Maintain accurate inventory records of all cannabis products, including flower, edibles, concentrates, topicals, and tinctures.
o Utilize inventory management software (such as BioTrack, METRC, and Excel) to track products from arrival at the dispensary to sale.
o Perform regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
o Inventory Tracking of all Non-Cannabis Items within the location:
§ Vape Batteries, Glass, Puffco, .etc
· Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations regarding product storage, reporting, and inventory tracking.
o Maintain detailed records for regulatory inspections, including batch numbers, purchase orders, manifests, and disposal documentation.
o Prepare and submit required inventory reports to state regulatory bodies in a timely manner.
o Ensure all products are properly labeled and barcoded in accordance with state guidelines.
o Follows Quality Control guidelines as necessary.
· Supply Chain Management:
o Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to receive product deliveries, verify shipment accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
o Ensure timely and accurate stocking of products on the sales floor, working closely with the sales team to prioritize high-demand items.
o Oversee product transfers between licenses.
• Loss Prevention:
· Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize inventory discrepancies, theft, or product damage.
· Conduct investigations and reconcile discrepancies in inventory counts and product movements.
· Develop and enforce security protocols for product storage, especially for climate-controlled products.
Team Leadership:
· Train and manage staff on proper inventory handling, reporting, and compliance procedures.
· Work closely with sales associates and management to maintain optimal product availability and organization.
· Lead by example in promoting a culture of accuracy, compliance, and professionalism.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyze inventory data to identify sales trends, predict future needs and keep our products available for sale at all time.
• Provide detailed inventory reports when requested.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting inventory costs based on historical data and market trends.
JOB SOFT SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and software.
• Knowledge of cannabis products and their proper handling.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Certifications:
· METRC Certification or other cannabis inventory management certifications (preferred).
· Required Vendor Training Certificate
JOB SCOPE
The Inventory Manager operates with direct supervision from the Assistant Managers and General Manager. The Inventory Manager follows established policies and assists management in the implementation of new concepts, policies and protocols necessary to perform job duties and tasks and raise them to the level of excellence. As an Inventory Manager, you are someone that sets a good example for the employees and delivers the best service and product knowledge. Also, the Inventory Manager is responsible for timely completion and maintenance of all inventory management recordkeeping and daily reporting.
