Job Description

Samsung SDS America is looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team supporting Samsung Semiconductor’s state-of-the-art campus in the heart of Silicon Valley and remote offices throughout the US. This position will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the company’s LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi environment, including daily administration, design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure and architecture. The goal is to provide excellent customer service and deliver high network availability in a 24x7 environment with on-call rotation. The engineer must be a team player, have a strong sense of responsibility, adhere to SOPs, detail oriented, and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

 

This position will work fully onsite in San Jose, CA with occasional business travel throughout the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain all network, security, and management systems to meet the organization's current and future requirements.
  • Oversee the daily administration and monitoring of the network and network management computer systems.
  • Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
  • Document the network infrastructure thoroughly.
  • Ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of the network environment.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to design and deploy new network solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest network technologies and industry trends.
  • Provide onsite and after-hours support as needed, participating in an on-call rotation.
  • Occasional travel to remote offices throughout the U.S.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 4+ years of network engineering experience working with network firewalls, Cisco IOS, LAN switching, Wi-Fi. technology, and configurations.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols.
  • Relevant Cisco certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls is desirable.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Desire to learn about new technologies and solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willing and able to occasionally travel for business within the U.S. (~4 times/year).
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware and software from various vendors.

Benefits

The base pay range for this role is USD $110,000 - $140,000 per year.

Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of the role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.

Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and Paid Time Off.
