Job Description

Third Coast is an offshore focused midstream company headquartered in Houston, Texas. Our operations are primarily located along the Gulf Coast and deep-water producing regions in the Gulf of Mexico. Third Coast provides efficient, safe, and reliable midstream services to our customers. Our assets include natural gas gathering and transmission pipelines, NGL and crude oil pipelines, gas processing plants, and a deep-water floating production system.

We're seeking candidates for a Pipeline Technician II/III role in any of or around the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan Area. The primary function is to maintain all aspects of the pipelines and gathering system while ensuring that safety and compliance are being met.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide regular maintenance of pipelines and metering stations.
  • Understand and adhere to safety requirements when working on jobs.
  • Use proper tools and equipment to perform integrity management and regulatory tasks on pipeline.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as defined.

  • Physical activities of this position include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.
  • Physical requirements of this position are:
  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move object.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate tools such as pipe, crescent and valve wrenches, screwdrivers, voltage meters and probe bars.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform mechanical, technical and/or skilled trade tasks such as opening or closing valves, locating lines, tightening nuts and bolts, welding or electrical where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; such activities may be repetitive or non-repetitive in nature.
  • The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather.
  • The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
  • The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body
  • The worker is subject to hazards. May include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • The worker may be subject to close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, small, enclosed rooms, small sewage and line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
  • The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
  • Approximately 10% of anticipated travel.

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum or High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum seven years of related work experience.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal required.
