What You'll Do in This Position
Demonstrate expertise and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a Division/Department in the area of management and administration of records, document control, and reprographics; share knowledge with personnel and management regarding good practices for records/document control/reprographics management and to attain compliance with Site and Federal requirements; perform and support the ongoing work processes for record copy capture, control, protection, retrieval, and disposition; and assist with the data collection/analysis required to support the improvement of work processes and migration from existing Records Management and Document Control technologies to new indexing and storage technologies. Position may work in classified or unclassified areas.
Major Responsibilities
- Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task. Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.
- Assist with the Planning and scheduling of the facility's Records Management Programs, Document Control, or Reprographics daily operations. May assign work duties to supporting personnel.
- Seek guidance and direction on the storage and disposition of all records. Provide assistance in the determination of processing, issuance, and publication of controlled documents. Provide guidance in reprographics and GPO requirements. Seek technical support and guidance on Site documentation numbering systems, retention periods, etc.
- Perform assigned records management and document control functions (e.g., records acceptance, verification, indexing, media conversion, storage, index search and records retrieval). Assist in the establishment of facility control rooms essential document, drawing, and emergency procedure files including maintenance and periodic assessments. Perform routine and some complicated database searches and retrieval to support internal and external customer needs.
- Seek a determination of appropriate record classification level, e.g., secret, confidential, UCNI.
- Assist with more complicated data collection and analysis, as assigned.
- Assist in the assessment of technical problems, the analysis of alternative solutions, and the determination of the preferred solution. Assist with performing required acceptance testing.
- Prepare desktop guides for the organizations to comply with upper-tier requirements and ensure work is performed correctly with appropriate documentation.
- Recommend work process improvements to ensure they are usable and cost effective.
- Assist in serving IT as the Department Records Coordinator.
Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Require
High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential
Qualifications We Desire
- Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science, or management information systems
- General knowledge of records management/document control governing requirements and upper tier (Management Requirements and Procedures (MRP) and DOE Orders) documents. This includes Site-level policies, NQA-1, and other applicable governing documents
- Experience with EPFM, EDWS, Proteus, SPF, and SDx.
