Big Ass Fans is seeking an experienced Sourcing Category Manager (Commodity Manager) to join our purchasing team at our Lexington, KY headquarters. This role is a key member of the procurement team responsible for ensuring the continuous supply of assigned commodities and maintaining thorough market knowledge of assigned commodities.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing engagements by partnering with stakeholders to define business requirements, identify potential suppliers, conduct negotiations, and execute contracts that represent best value for BAF.
• Develop and improve business partnerships with current and new suppliers. Partnerships should emphasize sourcing stability and driving total cost savings. Consideration should be given to material cost savings; reductions to working capital costs; risk mitigation; as well as sustainability. 
• Conduct onsite supplier plant and factory visits to examine and learn about products, services, and processes. 
• Negotiate the cost and lead time with approved suppliers. 
• Gains knowledge of BAF commodities - motors, etc. and seeks opportunities that support BAF's procurement strategy.
• Manage and report sourcing and cost savings initiatives to senior management. 
• Resolve issues related to supplier quality, pricing, and delivery in a timely manner.
• Evaluate forecasts to formulate long term material plans. 
• Minimize freight costs. 
• Dual-source critical parts and components.
• Manage Supplier delivery performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field
• 4+ years of demonstrated experience in the purchasing|supply chain field with a focus on Strategic Sourcing
• Ability to earn trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions 
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work, and achieve results with little oversight 
• Good communication skills and ability to excel in a cross-cultural, global team environment
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring strong communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
