This position is responsible for classroom instruction, curriculum development, and program growth activities, and it involves performing the following duties:
Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' needs and interests.
Establishes shared expectations with students regarding behaviors, norms, and habits in the classroom.
Plans and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning and engagement experiences.
Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning.
Evaluates student academic and social progress.
Maintains accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by law.
Monitors the progress of individual students using school database system (Synergy).
Works across all school sites to collaboratively develop a unique, engaging and rigorous curriculum.
Develops and designs program features which will inspire students to develop new understandings about the interconnectedness between subject areas.
Designs and adapts curriculum to meet the diverse needs of our student population.
Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities.
Develops auxiliary curriculum by working collaboratively with other teachers from across all school campuses.
Confers with parents, guardians, caring adults as well as school community stakeholders regarding student progress and aid in the planning specific interventions.
Performs the role of an advisor to a group of 15 students and helps to support individual students social and emotional growth and organizational skills.
Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Respectfully takes direction from manager.

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related subject.
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience working with high school youth in a school or community-based organization setting.
Oregon Teacher License is strongly preferred.
Non-certified teachers may be considered with relevant and/or exceptional experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
The job requires specialized computer skills. The candidate must be adept at using various applications, including databases, spreadsheets, report writing, project management, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicating by e-mail, and using scheduling software.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
