Front Line Manager - Inspection - 5th Shift - BWX Technologies, Inc - Barberton, Ohio

Responsibilities include :

• Assigns work and provides direction to salary and hourly production personnel.
• Assures equipment, hardware, and materials are available to production personnel.
• Responsible for assuring that the documentation of inspections, tests, and associated activities are complete and correct.
• Performs shop surveillance and audits various operation and software to assure compliance with procedures and instructions.
• Monitors performance and safety activities of subordinates and prepares documentation as necessary.
• Provides a liaison with customer representatives concerning activities requiring their input.
• Performs visual examination of material or components requiring inspection or test to assure requirements are met and that meaningful results are obtained.
• Provides on-the-job training and guidance to personnel assigned to the shift.
• Interfaces with the personnel in other departments to provide status on the inspection and test being performed by the unit.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates inspection and test data to determine acceptability of the technique and validity of results.
• Assist in the development and installation of new equipment and techniques.
• Accumulates pertinent detailed data to support the decision to implement new equipment and techniques.
• Weekend (5th) Shift Position - Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00pm - 6:00am; work 36 hours, paid for 40

Job Qualifications / Requirements

• Requires a two year technical degree related to inspection and test or two years of shop training and experience in inspection and test. 
• Previous supervisory experience a plus but not required. 
• Must be capable of passing all required written and operational examinations to become certified for test methods involved.
• A strong GD&T knowledge, dimensional inspection and/or NDT examination experience is preferred. 
• Must be a U.S. citizen only with no dual citizenship. 
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance.
